I don't see it, they got some wires that are unplugged but I don't see were it plugs in. Is it the top dead center of the trottle body? Because thats plugged in and the IAC is plugged in. What color should the wires be?

The problem with that it already has a check engine light. I just removed the bulb to pass inspections. Is there a way I can find why it has an check engine light. I do appriciate your help.

yep you can run it using the test light under the hood. Run the jumper wire from the two input ports with a test light in the bottom port hook to the positive side batt terminal.

Just get it all hook up then turn the kep in the off position. It will cyclt the fuel pump a couple times, watch the test light. it will blink 4times lightning quick the start to blink. It will blink in 2 digit intervals...example would be 36. Using that number it would blink 3 times with a short pause then it would blink 6 times with a long pause. then the next code number will read just like that one. It will repeat itself twice..it'll go through all codes then come back and read the codes out again

Just like this example on the top of this pic

Hi,

Also, if your not comfortable with the above method, some parts stores will still scan OBD1 vehicles for free, and sell the OBD1 scanners for cheap.

The above method calfroper_06 posted works just as good though

^^^^^^The pre 94 mustangs dont a diagnostics port so you cant use the scanners on them. The parts stor uses the same method like i posted....but most dont even know the correct provedure to that either

lol... i shocked the manager of the advance autoparts when a customer came in and asked if we could pull the codes on his 1988 F150...

the manager is all like "we can't do that here, it takes very sophisticated equipment.. blah blah blah"

I looked at the customer and said.. Dude, i got you... I have some "very sophisticated" wire in my trunk..

scanned his codes, and called the manager a moron

i dont work there anymore

you can find a digital scanner on ebay for OBDI fords. i payed 25 bucks. sure a wire is much cheaper, but i didnt mind paying the money to have the convenience of a digital display =p
