Default gt40p heads?

I was looking at getting some gt40p heads but had a couple of questions. First what type of headers am I going to need? Well the FMS shorty headers work? If not then what kind do I need to buy?

if you havent already bought the P heads dont unless you can get them for a couple hundred bucks. check out link: www.powerheads.com/products.html also you have to buy Pspecific headers which are usually $300. the powerheads are cnc ported stockers, which flow better than any aftermarket cast head, with similar size valves, and cheaper.

the powerheads use 1.90 intake valves which will most likely contact your flat top pistons. for the 86 you could use the Thumpers though, they use stock valve size. thats about your only option with heads.

Thanks wildstang.. There a guy here int town selling some for $350. I thought that was a good deal that's why I asked if I could use the FMS headers that I have now. If I can't then I'm not going to buy them. Thanks

$350 isnt bad, as long as you dont have to get them freshened up. also you can run certain shorty headers without a problem, i know this, but i call that half-assed. anyways, b/fore you buy them make sure they arent 64cc or you will lose compression, and counteract any gain you might see with them. also check out the flow #s on them, they arent that great out the box.

From what I have been told the heads are in good shape but I never asked what cc's they were. I'm sure if I go to that high of cc's i'll end up loosing hp.
