There is a million ways to do it. I've even changed methods a few times myself.

If you don't have a spare yoke to plug the outshaft, dump the transmission fluid before you remove the driveshaft.

I've always removed the shifter from inside the car before removal but I saw something last time I was visiting my friend who has a transmission shop. The lift the boot, undo the two bolts holding the shifter handle to the stubby shifter stick. Then lower the transmssion and pull it out with the shifter still on the transmission. It actually saves many steps in the re/re of a transmission.

It's pretty straight forward but time consuming trying to get to those 4 bolts holding the tranny to the bellhousing. Instead of dropping the tranny completely down I found it easier to just slide it back far enough to get the shaft out of the fork.

when you install it it helps to have someone in the car to press the clutch on while you are putting the input shaft in the bellhousing

Good advice if you incorrectly set the clutch disc inbetween the flywheel and pressure plate after a clutch install. Pressing the pedal will allow the disc to be free to float around as you move the trans/input shaft around looking for the position where both the disc AND the pilot bearing are aligned.

If you align the disc with the pilot bearing before you install the transmission. There will be no need to "free" the disc with the pedal.

In this particular situation Stilldyl is just changing a throwout bearing. In this case I'd don't even think about pressing the clutch pedal.
Before you slid the input shaft out. Everything is PERFECTLY aligned. Swap the bearing and reinstall. I guaranty you the disc will be aligned with the pilot bearing if you don't disturb it.
