Default Need some help!!

hey having some trouble with my 91 GT. I had to rewire my heater/ac blower motor and after doing this went to start the car and nothing happens, no clicking, nothing. i checked the starter solenoid and noticed one of the contact bolts was spinning freely when trying to un-tighten/tighten the postivie cable. so i replaced the solenoid and now its still not starting. it will turn over if you take a screw driver and make contact with both the solenoid contacts and the key has to be on the on position, and it will shut off the car. any ideas on what might be wrong?

Hi,

Check the starter control circuit. If you have a test light, place the test light on the S terminal of the starter solenoid as that wire runs to the ignition switch. Have someone turn the key to the start position and the test light should light up, if not, trace that circuit back fron the starter solenoid, to the neutral saftey switch back to the ignition key.

You may have broken a wire or wired something wrong so i would also double check the work you did to the blower circuit.

All the above is on the ASSumption that your battery is at 12.6v and is in good working order and that your starter solenoid ground is good......

Also, is your starter solenoid completely bolted down? If its loose you can have starting issues. Did you reconnect the battery? or did you even disconnect it while doing such a repair?

Why did you have to rewire your blower?

hey thanks for the info so far. the battery was connected, i did disconnect but it was connected. I had to rewire my blower because the previous owner cut the wires out after they melted a bit and never bothered to redo it. i will have to see if the selonid is bolted down firmly to the firewall, because thinking back it might have been a bit loose, one of the tie down screws might have been stripped....

Often, if a circuit works before and then suddenly quits, it is the fuse. This seems obv but did you check the fuse block?
