Default problem with rings!

Long story short I am rebuilding a 1990 5.0 non HO motor to go into my 1968 coup. The problem is I keep getting the wrong rings. The pistons I have are flat tops (original to the motor) with 1.5 MM compression rings and a 4 mm oil control rings. Every time I order rings I get ones that are too wide and will not fit in the ring lands. What is the deal I have tried three different places and I keep geting the wrong ones. Do I have the wrong pistons for this motor or are all the parts places in my town full of crap.

Thanks
Anthony

I am sure the pistons are stock, the motor is out of a one owner little old lady Town car.
A machine shop is a good idea. if anyone would know it would be them.

Thanks
