Default Porting and Polishing

I am debating on rather buying a Mr. Gasket Porting and polishing kit, 40 dollars altogether. Is it worth going through the trouble of porting and polishing a stock intake, how much will I gain. And are you able to do this to most aftermarket intakes?

On another note I know of no one in this town that Ports and Polishes intakes. I can learn and make money from doing to other peoples rides.

I would do alot of research first, then maybe get an old head to practice on. There are gains of maybe 15-20 hp to be had on a set of E7's mainly on the exhuast side, don't bother with polishing esp. on the intake ports as it can cause the fuel to puddle along the port walls. As for making money on the side you better be really good and just know that most people think they will get huge gains from a port job

Its very time consuming and not much gain from it,since the overall design of a factory intake is junk.....But after market one's can too be ported and most have a great design so porting them is worth the time and effort,I once ported a stocker and had about 6-7 hours worth of time in it for very little gain.Just not worth it IMO on a stock intake.

Why you still gave him good info on the porting E7's since peep's don't know about the fuel puddling problem on the intake side.Consider it bonus material

you can port the stocker. alot of ppl actually cut the upper in half and fully port it that way then have it welded. i think seen it was worth a gain of 8rwhp doing the upper that way. the bottem is deffently worth it to port. i would find a GT40E intake then port that one over the stock one. also remember this ppl that tell you not to do the stock ones. well alot of classes only allow stock parts and they are running very fast times. so go check out some of their tricks. its up to you really waht you want to do
