Default GT-40 Intake

I was talking to this guy the other day about my intake, i have a Edelbrock Performer RPM II Intake Manifold, and he told me that the GT-40 intake manifold is the best intake manifold that you can get for the 5.0L, is this true? or am i better off with the Edelbrock Performer RPM II?

the eddie intake will net you more HP but loose you low end torque, the opposite is true for the gt40 it wont kill the low end as much but wont net you as much maximum HP.

I would go with Trick Flow Track Heat, but thats just my trivial opinion.

you can easily have to much intake and it can hurt your total performance. you want to match your intake to youre heads, your heads to the cam and etc. you want all your parts to bascially work in the same RPM range. if not youll be slower then you thought you would be.

why get an intake that revs to 6500 when youre motor wont see 6500 rpms??? cause you choose a wrong one
why get an intake that stops at 5500 when youre motor pulls to 6k rpms?? cause you choose a wrong one
