Default k&n filters

cone draws in hot air, but more of it. factory type draws in colder air but less of it.

The 9" cone I like better cause it does draw in more air, and the more air the better, plus just get a heat resistant shield or box for it and stop it from sucking in so much hot air.

Default k&n filters

I've seen the flow numbers on the box filter as opposed to the cone type. Exactly the same. The cone type that goes into the fender well is better than the underhood, naturally, but it flows the same amount of cold air as the stock box with the k&n flat filter.

that is true to a point if you make a plate behind the cone it will out flow due to lessing the amount of air wash over the back side of the cone

un less you have forced ind i don't think it matters a lot. the k&amp;n will flow more than needed. either one

MAN I DUNNO ABOUT IT OUT IN THE OPEN I HEARD SOME STUFF! I LIKE THE FENDERWELL B/C IT SAVAGES AIR FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR. THE CONE GETS TO MUCH HOT AIR FROM HEADERS AND MOTOR NOT GOOD

i have a fenderwell mount. custom 4" thin wall aluminum with a k&amp;n on the end. i have the 4"pipe heat sheild insulated. oh yeah........cooooooooool air.
