you will lose low end with dumps on a stock motor and stock gears. for a built up motor with gears its not all that big of an issue. tail pipes also help smooth out the power band some where as dumps help top end out
but flows with dumps are just nirvana but the drone is a killer

i am now 16. my b day was may 12. i know i dont drive the car much, but i have driven it with an adult, i now have tailpipes. i didnt like dumps because they had too much drone and vibration. besides i didnt like being able to see that ugly gas tank from the side of my car. if u have a GT then dumps are good. but tailpipes belong on a coupe

I had them on my 88GT, and plan on putting them on my 91Gt. I had Dynomax super turbos with turndowns. Since I had already removed all the sound deadening material from the car, complaining about the noise would have been pointless. Check your state laws though, because they may be illegal.

had full pipes on truck, then went to turn downs now i got side pipes on truck
i noticed more topend pull with the turndowns. i noticed more lowend with the tail pipes and now with the side pipes its a good compromise.
this was in a 325ci 300hp/335tq truck with 373gears
and you will noticed it. also with the truck no tailpipes resulted in less mpg as compared to the tailpipes

Got Mac's which dump right in front of the axle on my 92 ...nice sound ..lots of drone ..Got Mac axle back system on my 05 ...Other than the obvious differences ...the 05 seems to direct sound out the back of the car, hence the tail pipes ...92, exhaust sound just comes from everywhere ..To each his/her own..I like em both ..dumps or tail pipes, long as it sounds good...

before i put the exhaust on my car (w/out cats is illegal where i live ) it had straight pipes to flowmasters and that's it...its sounds bad freakin' azz...it is loud but i didn't care...the new exhaust is a very nice mellow tone...if legal where you are I'd say do the dumps...

yes at idle you will have some exhaust fumes entering the cabin. that is why they really are illegal. they need to exit away from the passenger compartment. thats why on trucks you can legally dump the pipes after the cab
