yeah..heads and o/r pipe and no mufflers? it will sound like a dumptruck and backfire when letting off in the high rpms, get yourself some flows or something, it will still be loud but actually sound good and nice a deep tone to it.

So if mufflers are a loss of power why don't they use them on funny cars?

I like the sound of the SLP's, and my car as it sits sounds like has SLP loumouths, it's just a little bit louder. Everyone that has heard my exhaust has liked it, I haven't had one bad comment about it. Flowmasters are just too quiet for me, and yes I've heard them in person, my buddy has them on his 5.0.

with the o/r h and the headers its going to be a lot louder so if you like the sound you have now i would go with a straight though design and dump it before the axle and it will be loud

Well, they are pushing out more exhaust on startup than we do on 5 passes, LOL. Funny Cars are a little different than a 1991 5.0.

SLP loudmouth isnt nothing more then a straight thru pipe. its horribly raspy.

funny cars make power in the thousands. they arent worried about full exhausts. thats like comparing an apple to a watermelon

you seem to make things alot harder then needed. ppl give you advice from experience. ppl that heard your car maybe dont know what a good sound is. some ppl just like loud no matter how it sounds. personally straight thru is crap.. we can go on and on about this and in teh end its still going o sound like raspy crap. and its aloss of performance for low end/mid range

Well later on I'll probably get some super 40s or something. And everyone that's heard my exhaust just purely likes it, a buddy of mine has super 40's on his mustang and hell ya they sound good but they weren't loud enough for me. Now maybe that I've got the offroad h a set of flowmasters would sound nice. It's just all an opinion. I know that comparing a funny car to my car is not a comparison at all, but you're saying if I put mufflers on my car I will notice a bottom to midrange power difference?
