You may have put the thermostat in backwards. Make sure the SPRING is facing the engine block, not the radiator. Only thing I can think of.... And, is the fan cycling on and off after it warms up?

hows the condition of the water pump? is it circulating the water? start the motor with the radiator cap off. let the motor come up to temp and see if the water in the radiator gets hot.

is this a recent problem? did you just get the car this way?

Change the thermostat to a 180 or a little higher. Your thermostat inst closed enough for your fan to cool the radiator.

Sometimes you can. My other car i had to change the theromostat cause it was too low and the fan didnt have enough time to cool it down do too it be open more frequently.
