I have been having issues with the Red Rocket lately (Past thread: Spout connector). The car is at my brothers shop at the moment. He reads Code 44 for both banks. The thermactor valves both check out to be okay. Car still has code 44. All smog stuff is on the motor. Car falls on its face after 2K. Has anyone had this prob? Any help would be great.

It turns out that my MSD timing light is a POS. My brother thought I had it close by having faith in my ability as did I. He put his light on it and it was about 15* retarded. So for any one with an MSD timing light: They are junk and I am throwing mine away.

Lol sounds right, smog systems will not hurt your performance no what their condition. A lot of people run without smog no problem... like me.

About the smog...... My brother and I were talking about putting in bigger check valves in place of the current thermactors. He thinks that I have too much pressure in my motor and that the current set up can't keep up. Does this sound logical? Would it work?
