Changing Rear Wheel Studs

Changing Rear Wheel Studs
How big of a job is it to change out the rear wheel studs? I have to install longer ones to pass tech at the track. Is it just as simple as knocking them out and then back in?

You are going to have to remove the axles, knock out the old ones and use a press to get the new ones in. That is what I did..Tried many time to do it with axles in...No chance. Please do a search from this in the forum.

I've done mine two ways:
1. Removed the axles, tapped old studs out with a hammer, then tapped the new ones in with a hammer.
2. Have also done them with the axles in the car. Tapped the old ones out with a hammer, used some old lug nuts and washers to draw them into place. You have to rotate the axle to just the right place to be able to get the new longer stud into position from behind the axle flange and brake backer plate.

yep, I tapped mine on my coupe into place didn't need a press. seems like trying to do them with the axles installed would be more of a head ache than taking the axles out, taking the axles out isin't too hard at all, just becareful when you pull them out not to ding them around inside the axle and if you do take the axles out, replace your seals while its all out.

My rims just came in last week I got some time today and put them on,
Unfortunately I got 1 on the pass front that is striped out, drive side front 1 is broken, and the drivers side rear lol wow this is what I have
1 was broken, 1 broke on me, and one striped out, so I only have 2 good lugs lol but I didn't tighten them like I would like because I didn't want another one to snap, I never replaced lug studs before but im about to learn.
I think on a 95 mustang you won't even have to take off the brakes, is that correct?
