when i built my motor i just torqed my rocker arms down my motor is still not running right could i have them to tight i have heard get the exzaust when it is comming up then loosen the intake valves till u can barely move then tighten 1 half turn could this be my problem when i first crank it it sounds good after a few second it starts missing got good fuel pressure new mass air about all new parts that i could put on

If they are adjustable, tightening them down all the way is too much, and ends up holding the valves open. Back them off all the way until they are very loose. Rotate the engine over by hand until both rockers on each cylinder are flat, and, one cylinder at a time, adjust the valve lash. With a hydraulic lifter, you an either spin or jiggle the pushrod as you tighten the rocker nut. As you tighten the nut, you will begin to feel resistance. At that point, go 3/4 turn. That should put the plunger near the middle of it's movement range.
If you get any excessive slapping noises, you may need to go 1/4 more turn- usually if the valvetrain is worn.
