Default 90 LX 5.0 Fuel Problems/Help!!!!!!

I have a 90 lx 5.0 5 spd. This car has been changed to a carb set up. The issue I am having is, The fuel pump will not work. I have changed the Relay 2x and pulled the pump from the tank and 12 volted it and it works fine outside the tank. So, From the relay I spliced the wire at the relay and ran it to a keyed 12 volt source and the pump runs with the key on now but goes way beyond the prime stage and wont shut off without turning the key off. When the car is running with the key on and car started, I cannot get the pressure to regulate, I purchased a 125.00 Malory regulator and the fuel has now blown the accelerator pumpa and bowl gaskets out of my Holley. Can anyone help me????????? I cannot run this car with the pump wired direct and the pressure out of control. Thank you for any help.

Using the stock pump? Way too much pressure. Only need 6-8 lbs for carb. Bubba

I do in fact have a return line on the car. I have also placed a 125.00 malloty regulator in at as well. The car has a wahlbro pump in it. If I in fact do change a lower pressure pump in the car, do you have any advise for the fact that the pump has to be wired direct to a 12 volt keyed source to work, is it possible I have done something wrong changing this to a carb set up????

Did it ever run since the carb was put on it? Personally I think that was a mistake to go back to a carb on an EFI 5.0. I can see many problems that you will have with changing to a carb. Good luck and hope it works out.
