Intermintent Run Problem

Intermintent Run Problem
I am new to this forum, so forgive me if I am posting in the wrong place.
I have a 94 convertible 5.0 gt.
I have new plugs, cap rotor, plug wires, and coil. It runs excellent, but will occasionally just stop running. I replaced all the above because it was due anyway, the plug wires were factory. I was tooling down the freeway this afternoon and it just quit. I didnt have any tools with me and called the auto club for a tow. After an hour I tried it again and it fired right up. I have lost spark before, but it has only been a nuisance, and it immediately restarted.
Anyone have any suggestions?

sound like something electrical is heating up then shutting off spark, then when cooling off it gets it’s connection back. I would check the connection to the starter and see if any of the connections look as if it was getting hot, check all the heavy amp wires and the main ground connections. GL

so when it dies and wont start... it's turning over? or no
and are you CERTAIN it is spark your losing and not fuel ? have you verified that with a fuel pressure guage when it's acting up ??
if not, check your inertia switch in the trunk, my '89 had intermittent issues like that and it was the connection there.... the harness was just loose enuff that it would break connection i guess. if it does it, play with that connection and see what happens
btw... are you a divemaster? i just got mine done last fall. PADI for me, funnest class i ever took, loved working with students

There is a PIP inside the distributer. You have to take the entire distributer out to change it. I would take the TFI module off and take it to a good parts store to test.
These links should help -

Thanks Dreamer.
I'll pull the distributor tonight and see if I cant just clean it out.
I called one of the better parts stores out here and was told there isnt a TFI module because it refers to the entire system.
I built hot rods in the 70's, this stuff is crazy.
Where's the module located?
