Default new clutch cable, now feels like the clutch is stiffer?

I put the clutch cable out of my parts car into mine, it looked exactly like my steeda cable i had in the '95 and it had a steeda quadrant on it so i'm guessing it's a steeda. anyways, after the install the car drives better than before but it seems like it's a little harder to push in on the pedals. i checked it all over and it's not binding anywhere. also before the new cable my revs would hang for a second after i push in on the clutch and it would grind into reverse sometimes, all that is gone and it drives better now, just harder. anyone know what would cause it?

get a "brand new" steeda cable , I've been through this tons of times with my car and customer cars, trust me, it's the cable, you won't see anything visual

my guess is that the cable is pulling the clutch fork further forward and disengaging the clutch completely.

Sometimes the inner sheathing wears out and the cable is trying to move on a surface that's not as slippery as the original sheathing. Or the cable is starting to fray and this causes major friction when you try to pull on it.

I just got the full mm setup with their firewall adjuster, quadrant, and most important that stock ford clutch cable. It is amazing compared to my last cable, it was really heavy and stiff.

Do you have a firewall adjuster?
