Starts but wont keep running

Starts but wont keep running
ok heres the issue 1991 mustang sittting for awhile just recently cleaned tank which was varnished replaced the fuel bump and all that goes with that now when i try to crank it it will turn over hit its idle spike at about 1400 slow doen to bout a 1000 then die my dad thisnks it could be dirty injectors any ideas?

yes and no it will start the after its rev peak die then i let the starter rest mostly cuz theres alot of amps going through ther and 1 its a pain to get in and out and 2 its exspensive but anyways yes after a few seconds it will start again and run through the same cycle right now i have the throttle body out of the car and am debating on self cleaning the injectors or not

ok i c how to do the reset ill do that tomorrrow ive checked the spark and fuel already i pulled my iac and throttle body and cleaned both im waiting on my oriellys for the sealls to put them back on if it runs dirty iac/throttle bdy grat if not its back to the injectors

My car did much the same thing but it would crank and crank, then start and run up in rpm then die. I thought it was a fuel problem for about a week because i couldn't get it to run by giving it throttle even. I finally got it to run long enough to do a KOER test and it turned out it was my Summit Mass Air Sensor. Put the factory one back in and it ran great. Don't know if that will help, but it sounded kinda similiar to my problem last year.
