put some 3.73's of 4.10 in it and be happy. I can break my 245's loose into second and chirp 3rd with 3.73 stock motored 88... just put a spec stage 1 clutch and it really grabs.

def sounds like gears are the way to go, the car is kind of a dog until i hit about 2500-2700rpm and then it takes off then i get another kick in the pants about 5000rpm.

-stock cam w/ 1.7rr and gt40 heads w/ longtubes so built for top end i guess? guys on here say i should be about 250rwhp.

If your spinning or barking tires, you're loosing E.T.

has nothing to do with the fact that i shouldn't be able to with street tires...if i were worried about it too much at the track then i would go with slicks, but that's no the issue

what does it honestly matter if you can break loose in 2nd? my car wont do it unless i really try. if you have crappy street tires ya they will brob break loose but if you actually have good ones they wont.

A set of gears will get what you want and a little more acceleration, it matters wat gears u have in it now

Buy a set of 3.73 gears. Put new clutch pack in while it is apart. Bet it will shread the rubber off your tires.

I agree with Bubba 95SN.3.73 are the way to go for a fox 5.0 .It will deninitely help on take off. When nailing the throttle at around 1500 rpm's in first it will break traction.
