Default aluminum flywheel vibration

I recently replaced my old clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and flywheel with a king cobra clutch kit and SPEC aluminum flywheel. When I hit 65mph there is a big vibration coming from the drivetrain. Does something else need to be changed or balanced? possibly the harmonic balancer?

You could be having a problem with the harmonic balancer, but it's more likely that the driveshaft wasn't reinstalled the same way it was removed. If that's the case, the weight on it isn't properly matched and is causing the vibration. It's a good idea to check the installation before you replace parts. A good way to check is to remove the driveshaft, rotate it 90*, and see if the vibration goes away or if it gets worse. Try that until you've rotated it back to the original position. If it goes away, you're good to go. If it gets worse, the problem is most likely that the flywheel has the wrong weight on it.

is the vibration specific to a speed, or an RPM?

this will tell us where in the car it is. If the vibration is speed related, and it wasn't there before. Then I would suggest you unbolt the driveshaft from the rear end, rotate it 90° and try again.

If the vibration is RPM related, I would lean more towards the balance of the flywheel being wrong, or some bolts not being tight.

i dont think its driveshaft related at all! its most likely the flywheel u bought wasnt the right balance i believe these engines are all external balanced meaning the harmonic balancer, crank, and flywheel are balanced together instead of internal balanced meaning there all balanced seperate.

From what I can remember my spec aluminum flywheel came with the 50 oz. weight preinstalled and had a separate 28 oz.

The vibration is speed related. If I push the clutch in or brake, it continues to vibrate the same. It has nothing to do with RPMs. Also, my flywheel didn't come with weights.

time to start indexing your driveshaft 90° at a time

I tried rotating my drive shaft 90° for every bolt orientation, and it did not fix the vibration. I am going to get my drive shaft balanced and see if that will fix it. What else could it be? Possible something in the diff? Maybe a warped rotor? I can't think of anything else..
