Default T-5 question

I have a turbo coupe thunderbird 1988.( it's a turbo 4 cylinder for those that don't know ??) summit sells a rebuild kit for the t-5 for v-8s ,it list will fit turbo coupe and svo's . My question is I'm doing a v-8 swap will this t-5 stand up behind a mildly modified v-8???? any ever use one ? Thanks for any help!I was going to put the turbo four in there but I need POWER!!!!!!!!

Well, I've heard tail of guys running a 4 cyl T-5 behind a 5.0 and running the crap out of it and it still held up. Also heard that running 4:10's with a 4 cyl T-5 is a great combo because they are geared different and pull like crazy, but still can use all the gears.

you heard wrong. The first gear in the 4 cyl T5 is so short on its own, that coupling it with 4.10's literally makes first gear useless.

^^^^^when I first converted my 92, for a short period I used the 4cyl t-5 and rear gears were 3.45's and it wound out way to quick for my liking
