Default Small Transmission Problem

changed my throwout bearing , pilot bearing, clutch, pressure plate, resurfaced flywheel, new transmission....

problems:

- anything over 45mph (it seems only 5th gear & not if your going slower than 45 in 5th gear!) you hear a chirping sound (like the throwout bearing) but it seems like the sounds is traveling down the driveshaft. Still pulls hard in 5th, its not affecting anything like that, just a light chirping sound that seems to get a bit louder when you get on 5th hard. (other than this, everything is GREAT)

I was going to change the driveshaft soon to an alum one just to see if it had to do with that , which i didnt really it would help

u joints on the driveshaft?

So if that is it, getting an aluminum driveshaft should fix it.

Oh, and another problem, the tailshaft of my transmission, it leaks out trans fluid a little, You can see drip marks below it, I guess Its because i didnt twist the driveshaft into the seal. I did sand it with a super high grit sand paper and then lube it up with trans fluid but it still leaks a little.

Remove driveshaft then move the joints to the extreme. Feel rough-binding? Replace the u joint is inexpensive. Better than a wrecker for a tow. Yes, the aluminum shaft will have new joints, just saying might better be on side of caution untill.

High grit as in rough? That sounds like a mistake right there. Should be a polished surface to be leak free.

Does the noise go away with a slight preload on the clutch pedal?

I believe he meant fine, as in a high number ie 800-1000-2000 grit, kind've pointles IMO unless the vibration left gouging
