89 GT Idling issues
#11
ok, I adjusted the tps to .889 volts and that was best i could do, Unplugged IAC, disconnected the bat for thirty minutes, started her up and she ran at 650rpm good, cut her off plugged the IAC back in cut a/c radio every possible electronic in the on mode cranked her back up ran 650rpm good. Ran it fourty miles to school and it is doing it again. it will idle at 650 till she warms up then it idles at 900-1000rpm. When you are driving at push the clutch in to down shift or while slowing down rpms go to 1100-1300 rpms until you completely stop then stays on 1000 rpms. This car ran great till i swapped out tb. I have no idea what is going on. I replaced the stock tb with a edelbrock 70-75 mm tb i am not sure which it is the stock egr spacer is still on the car. The butterfly valve screw is backed all the way back.. Please help!!!

Because it's virtually free, run a KOEO test and see if there's any stored error codes. There's tutorials on this forum if you've never done it. A paper clip or jumper wire and the ability to count is all it takes.
Perhaps transferring the TPS to the new throttle body was the straw that broke the camel's back and now it's failing. I'm not sure that makes complete sense in MY mind, but a new one can be had for $20-$30 so if you're desperate you can try it without too much wallet damage. Perhaps someone else will chime in if this is a stupid suggestion.
FWIW I've heard of people using a dremel to elongate the mounting holes in order to rotate it further and get it in spec. Perhaps the mounting holes are just far enough off with Vic's TB to create a problem. If you do that, I would think it wise to measure what the TPS puts out at WOT after your modification too. Regardless, it's so close to spec that it seems kinna hard to believe it's the problem.
Did you clean the IAC while it was off? Maybe swapping it around dislodged something that is jammed in there?
Sorry I can't be of more help.
