Default I think I have a wiring problem?

Get the chime when you put key in the ignition with the door open, dome light works, head and tail lights work but no dash lights and when you turn the key over nothing? Checked the fuses and they were good. I noticed that some of the wiring had been spliced but the seem good. Just not sure what to do next. Thanks

bad connections at the starter solenoid would be my first guess. the entire car is powered by that one giant bundle of wires attached to 1 post.

checked that, could it be a faulty ignition switch?

It sounds like a problem I had before on mine. what i would start to check is your ignition switch, check for power to all wires but one with the key on (thats the one that starts the car) and then check that wire while trying to crank to make sure it gets power.

fusible links, test them, they're everywhere in the wiring harness and it sounds like someone was looking for them before, just put a multimeter on both sides and check for continuity on both sides.there are about three or four wires coming off the opposite side of the starter solenoid and they all have fuse links on them and are very close, check them first.

IDK if you have everything plugged in on the car but just a FYI if you don't have things like the instrument cluster, dimmer switch, and what not there are things that won't work because the circuit runs through them.
