Question 1988 Mustang GT 347 Stroker

I have a 347 stroker with following mods: edelbrock performer intake, 70mm throttle bodie, egr block off, mass air conversion, E303 cam, 1.6 svo roller rockers, off road h-pipe, msd blaster coil, 6al box, msd distributor, 19 lbs injectors with bbk high pressure fuel rails @ regulator set at 40, the heads i don't know?? they are stock heads race ported(i was told) with valve way bigger that stock, and to top it off i have the sct 4 bank eliminator. the problems i have is it some what surging when i am at speed and then let off of the throttle and coasting. the idle it's self goes up and down, but not like a surge. it will go up to 1500 and stay and them come back down to 1200 then 1000 and finally at 750 where i have the idel set. is all this happening because i have to put it on the dyno and tune it?

aren't we so helpful, yeah, your combo is a little ****ty, the main problem is that sct mail a tune ****, if you can switch that with a factory setup I'd do that first. their not any good and will cause more problems than they fix. past that you're going to have to ask specific questions and hope that the "nice guys" that posted before me have something better to do than rag on your setup.

It wouldn't hurt to get a tune. And to ignore the other guys that post stupid sh*t. They probably forgot where they come from before they started building cars the way they wanted them. You have a great starting point. You will probably have to go with 24 pounders and unchoke that thing. Save for a set of better heads than take it to get tuned. Having a car tuned is the best money that you can spend to maximize your set ups.

make sure you have what you want to run for a while before you spend the money on a tune, i read off road h pipe but no headers, I would do like blown40 said and step up to 24's and a calibrated mass air too. And as a personal preference avoid chokemasters, their terrible mufflers that can't outflow muffler shop specials
