Default 5.0 or 5,8?

at the moment I have a stock 86' GT w/ 5.0 ... i've seen it before but cant find it..whats the diff. between the 86 and the 87-93? I know the 87+ has 225hp where im pushing 200hp... And can the 351 be fuel injection or would it have to be carb'd? And would it be worth it... Thanks for all the help</P>

A little lower HP as you pointed out, and I believe that 86 were carbd, and 87 are not. Nevertheless, looks are a larger difference between 86 and 87, and some other minor things were done as well. In terms of the 351, yeah you can make it fuel injected, but its much more fun carb'd, and you can probably get a lot more power out of it considering its much easier to adjust things without computer programming and the like. So in the long run, IMO its better to savor the carb'd era and smell that non-polution-restricted exhaust. But you can get 351s just as easy carb'd as you can fuel injected, but as for changing it to injected, it might be easier to buy a fuel injected first, unless you already have a 351 carborated.

Ultimate potential fuel injection rules. But it's a TON more work doing the tuning.

86 had the same intake setup as the 87-93 they had a set up heads that sucked. with these heads and something with the tunning you cant adjust the timing too much with those.
and carbs suck. throw on the fuel injected intake and get a MAF. and have fun. you should still be able to pass emissions if you need to with this swap if you do it right

I am in the process of building my dart based twin turbo 408. I am making it fuel injection. Go for the more cubes. More reliable if you want to make big power on pump gas.
