If you set TDC by using the piston then yes it will show at zero. If you match the rotor and number 1 plug then you will see your timing.

It looks like the rubber is pushing itself out of the balancer.

yeah I first set it with the rotor and it was sitting at around what would be 40 degrees, so i decided to see what it was with the #1 piston all the way up and thats where it is in the pic.

(yes I do run quite a bit of timing on it...dyno liked it)

Ahhh, ok. I couldn't remember. It has been awhile since I have talked to you on here. You can get them for $60 at latemodel. I need to pick one up myself for my new motor.

yeah i see summit also has an OEM for about 65. Just really unsure why it failed..then again i cant remember if i put a new one on when I had the new engine put in, which if i didnt, would mean that this one has around 150k miles on it...60 bucks sounds like a good start, got an engine stand for xmas, so at least ill know before i yang the engine to reseal it back up (vibration was poppin gaskets left and right on just a few trips)

...which gaskets?.....Its a common issue. You might as well get a fluid dampener since you are already investing the money.

well i need to change the pan gasket, it sprung a leak last time i drove it with anti-freeze somewhere, and tranny is leaking somewhere as of late also. Im taking off for a couple months and have the wifey half talked into a TKO or astro performance T5, so I figured I would pull both fix leaks and wait for transmission
