Default Engine got rained on.. an might have Alarm problem

Engine got rained on..
trying to figure out what might've went bad..

i have a 95 mustang gt 5.0. i left the hood off one day and didnt expect to rain. so it got soaked. months later, i'm trying to start it up just to make sure it still runs strong before i pull the motor out to put in my 67. and it wont crank. i've never had a problem with it. its always cranked right up. its getting fuel. fuel pump is working. i'm getting a new distributor cap tomorrow cuz i accidently broke the part where it screws down (afterwards). what could've went bad from i getting rained on?

it just turns over. never catches.

is it possible that i set the factory alarm off somehow? isnt it just turning over a sympton of the alarm being active? i think i remember my 97 gt doing that once but i dont remember how i fixed it. i unplugged a few wires in the trunk.. i was stripping out a few things. i had the red button in the trunk that pops up when you wreck..unplugged, but its plugged back in now. everything i unplugged in the trunk is plugged back in. i also had the Remote Fob box unplugged and noticed it says 'anti theft' on it, is that part of the alarm?

I'm almost positive that a 95 gt won't have an alarm that sophisticated, it may have a programmable key but that being bad wouldn't even let it turn over. Follow this and maybe someone else will chime in too.

by the way the inertia switch should be pressed down

well its a wrecked car. i went n took the driver door off, had to unbolt it from the front near the fender. i had to unhook or cut the harness to he power windows that runs to the door. so i go and cut it cuz i couldnt get it to unplug...ended up cutting the wrong harness. i cut a harness that has a bunch of wires including 4 yellow wires. so i realized what i did. the fuel pump quit clicking on and the ignition quit. so i wire 2 of the yellow wires back together without knowing what i was really doing. then all of a sudden it cranks right up. still cranks up now. i still need to figure out what the other 2 yellow wires go to.

In my best "cop talking through a megaphone" voice:

"Put the tools down and step away from the car.
Call someone who knows what they are doing."

Almost sounds like your timing chain is broke.

So a broke timing chain will allow the car to start up 82?
