just about every old 5.0 does that. I have two that do that and my buddies does it also. all three motors have over 120,000 miles. run thicker oil it should help out.

It is usually a rod with too much clearance. The oil pressure builds up, and the slop is taken up by oil.

heavier oil will make it worse in the mornings, check you oil pressure you could have a failing oil pump or a half stopped up oil pick-up or worse the above just wore out main, rod bearing, wrist pin. if your running synthedic and this is happening changing oil wt won't help either way. you could always go to an exturnal pump so you can primp the engine before starting..one day all cars will have this and engines will last 500k easy<img border="0" src=smileys/smiley6.gif border="0">

Uh oh, hope it is not the oil pump, that was a b**ch to change out I just finished doing mine, ahhh I guess it is not to bad once you get going. It fixed my problem, I had the similar thing, except mine was more of a ticking sound, thanks to VFast and a few others here I got the job done, they are great!!!!!!! So Id advise to listen to their info.
