No one can say. It all depends on how your driving patterns are. Anything can break.

But the most common wear for a high milage vehicle is suspension (bushings, shocks, struts, springs)

For the engine it is the mechanical devices that have internal moving parts. (fuel pump, starter, AC compressor, Water pump, etc)

Basically anything with a bearing is bound to say bye-bye in high milage.

I'd have to say the most common thing is the A/C.

The water pump will be done, but it would have probably been replaced a long time ago, AC can develop leaks, need recharging, or there could be issues with the compressor, that sorta thing.

A big internal problem would be the rings. Alot of high milage engines burn oil because of worn rings. I take it you are looking to buy a car with 150k on it?

I have a completely stock (which, with this motor, means "completely rare"!) 1990 5.0 with 165,000 miles on the engine. Work to date includes:

-water pump (about 15,000 miles ago)
-alternator (about 20,000 miles ago)
-a/c - compressor still works, but system needs recharge
-replaced valve cover gaskets (about 20,000 miles ago)

Other than that, the engine still purs like a tiger...

Good luck!

I really don't doubt that it's a great runner, people have taken them over 200,000 miles with no major problems. Do a rebuild on it and you'll have an even greater running car.

My timing chain cover gasket blew at 143,000. Just out of the blue, due to age and it was very brittle. Replaced the tming chain set while I was in there also.
