do a search in the 5.0 section for base idle, idle surge, and stalling... you will find your answers, as it has been covered hundreds of times

Default idle rpm

What is your idle rpm when your engine is warmed up and able to idle on its own? I would disconnect the negative battery cable for 1/2 hour, then turn the idle screw clockwise between 1/8 and 1/4 turn, reconnect negative cable and run the car for a few days, it takes time for the computer to relearn and see if this helps. It sounds like your on the threshhold of idling and stalling so a little turn of the idle screw might be your solution.

clean the idle bypass value, if not the fix replace the TPS on top of the TB. 90% of the time this fixes unless heavy abuse. Did have a car on time work when cold, not start when warmed up....it was both 02 sensors.
