Electrical current will follow the path of least resistance. If your spark is arcing from the spark plug wire caps on the plugs, I'd replace the wires with a decent set. Don't skimp and buy the $14 set from Autozone. And as stated above, replace the plugs too.

Oh, and just a FYI, next time just start a new thread with any questions you have. Digging up an old thread from years ago is usually frowned upon.

Post back with what you find....

Also it is jumping around with motocraft plug wires as well. I am thinking about the distributor or the computer

Just to clarify, are you seeing a spark "arc" from the spark plug wire boot around the plug to the head itself. Is that what your calling a flame ?

Edit: I reread the thread again and noticed you never called it a flame. But just need some clarification.

Yes all is grounded good. And they are new plugs, i had got new ones because the old plug were doing the same thing and the new plugs didn't change a thing. Also the spark is jumping around the coil.

The spark arc or whatever you want to call it is jumping around the plug itself, right around the very bottom of the porcelain at the nut of the plug. Another thing that i have noticed because my actuator in my ignition broke, my ground on my battery gets burning hot after running the car for a while. Here is a list of everything that they did at the shop just for some clarification

Took the motor out

New gaskets all the way through

Timing kit

Reseated some valves, some of both intake and exhaust valves were stuck open

Last put a new starter on

Also i just ordered a distributor

Your negative cable getting hot is a great indicator that you DON'T have a good ground or the cable itself has internal corrosion. Visually inspect every inch of the cable for cuts or rub thru's. Take both ends off and clean surfaces to bare metal. A good clean connection is critical.

I'll bet this solves your problem....

Well i put my new distributor in today and that still hasnt solved my problem. So i took your advise, i checkes the wire cleaned all around and it is still jumping maybe there is a positive wire touching a ground wire or the block causing this crazy stuff
