Just for giggles then, try adding another ground. From the block right to the frame.
Also, verify you still have a factory ground from the back of the engine. It grounds the head to the firewall. Also there's another ground for the computer in the passenger kick panel.
I went thru this type of problems a couple years with my car. Took me weeks of throwing wrenches before I found a bad ground. That's all it was. I didn't have arcing wires, but very erratic electrical issues.

if you can see spark arcing out of something, it's not rocket science my friend, right where the spark arcs out is the path often where the problem is...ie a ground or component
