Default newb with questions about my setup

hey all. new to this site. look forward to hearing what everyone has to say. but to start out i have a 1991 mustang gt with a tired gt40 motor setup. just bought a .40 over with xcam and rebuilt gt40 heads with .600 lift springs. i have gt40 upper and lower intake from exploder, underdrive pullies, stock tb and msd ignition. all connected to a c4 with a slight stall and shift kit 3.55 gears. my question is what should i do to get my car into the mid 12 range? i jus purchased 4 cyl rear coils. but no shocks yet. dont really know which way to go... any help would be awesome thanks

anyone runnin a similar setup?

Welcome to the board!

For me personally? I wish I could say that I did. When I was a child, I would have died to have a Fox with a similar set-up

Welcome to the forum.

What 1/4 mile times are you currently running? You shouldn't be that far from 12s....sounds like some items need to be sorted.

BTW....love the X cam. In my opinion the GT 40 stuff is at it's limit with the X cam. You should research TFS, AFR and other head/intake combos to utilize that cam or switch to a different cam to match the GT40 stuff. There are a ton of options. Depends on $$ & time.....?

Control arms, shocks, 3:73s or 4:10s (pending on how much you drive the car) 2500-3200 stall, bigger tb and full exhaust,

That with what you have you have should not be a issue to going 12 N/A.

Or! You can put so juice to it and take the easy way out...

well when i bought the car it supposedly ran a 13.9 with stock 5.0 upper and lower. but i can feel motor is gettin tired. im sure nitrous was run on the block for a while. o and i forgot to say i have summitracing longtubes and full exhaust not cats. and lol i hate juice i think its cheap haha like steroids hahahaha. and ya eventually i would like some afr heads. but ya that new motor is goin in the car in the next 2 months. first motor swap ever!! and will that xcam be too much with 1.6 rockers and rebuilt heads and .600 lift springs? sorry for all the questions i literally just started obsessing over cars. andd thanks everyone for ur imput i really appreciate hopeto get some pics of my cAR ON HERE SOON

turbo, one big one or a couple small ones, slicks will be the biggest thing and shorter gears if its a straight drag car
