I have a couple questions regarding swapping a ford ranger rear end into a '88 mustang lx, the car is originally a 4 cyl that has been swapped for a v8 the rear end is currently non posi 4 lug, i was wondering if anyone has ever done one of these swaps and if they have any information regarding what year and model ranger to look at that has a trac lok (posi) rear end, and what if any other materials they needed for the swap or was it just a unbolt, swap, rebolt, process, thankyou for any help and advice that is given

you cant put the ranger rear end in your mustang. You can only use the brakes and one of the axles. I believe its two drivers side axles... i think

I think you are correct. The right side axles are longer if I remember correctly.
