Sequence of a KOER is self test codes first (engine id code flashed, self test routine runs for ~2-3 minutes and codes are flashed twice, 11 in your case).... then you perform a brief WOT, wait 3-4 minutes for the cylinder balance routine to run, then the Cyl. Bal. result codes are flashed.

If the results are KOER = 11 and Cyl. balance = 80..... it means cylinder #8 is low in power when compared with the other cylinders, #8 doesn't show with a similar RPM drop when the injector is turned off by the ECM.

Tests to do?..... cranking compression pressure, intake manifold reading engine idling with gauge, vacuum leak check at the intake #8 cylinder runner, intermittent loss of spark to the plug (bad #8 cable), switch #8 injector with another cylinder and check if cylinder balance failure moves to the cylinder the injector was interchanged with, verify lifters preload........

moved wires, replaced injector, spark plug no change

could the coil going bad cause this issue, i bought crane cams ignition system just waiting on it to come back from crane to install.

my code reader show cyl 8 first then runs the test and i get code 11 then nothing else ever shows up so. i am kinda lost when you are saying that cylinder 8 is a 80.

go buy a tester with a book explaing it all. It is like 20 bucks at a parts store.

btw, an 11 is a system pass code.

I would make sure a rat or something didn't eat through the injector wiring and check the cap.

If all checked good and you already replaced the plug, wire and injector, I would do a compression test. If it has compression and is not just drowning in water, I would start looking elsewhere.

That is not the result from a cylinder balance test. That is the scanner interpreting that the system under test is an 8 cylinders engine based on the intial 4 flashes it sees. To run a cylinder balance test you need to allow the KOER codes to be flashed twice and then perform a brief WOT to activate it.

so you are saying that i dont have a misfire and the tester is just showing that it is testing an 8 cylinder engine

..... the initial code flashed in any Ford KOER routine is a cylinders # ID code..... 2 = 4 cyl., 3 = 6 cyl. and 4 = 8 cylinders + a cylinders balance test needs to be initiated/triggered by the operator..... it doesn't happen spontaneously.
