Default 1.7 RR's on E7's

I picked up a set of new, 1.7 crane roller rockers ( the ones that came on the 93 cobra ) for $125 a while back.

My plan to build some gt40 has died, so rather then selling these, can i use these rr's on my stock E7's? With the Stock pistons, will they clear?

Also, would i need new springs?

and yea i know, the E7s are only good to use as a boat anchor.

But just as a quick addition for one or two seasons of fun.

Yes they should clear BUT I would check clearance just like should be done all engines when doing anything to increase lift or duration or change valve events even though lift is not the only factor in piston to valve clearance issues. I dont know about the springs you will need to check for coil bind also. You should also to make sure the push rods are the right length.

Yea how do i make sure i have the proper size push rods. This is something i ahve wondered for a while.

Does the push rod start at a standard size?

Like do i just move up a size to like 8.150 ?

I would always start with what you got and go from there.

Sounds like you have your answer but they will work with no piston clearance issues on a stock cam. You will have to watch your springs however because the added strain of the 1.7s may cause them to bind cause of their age.
