fan hitting shroud
Fan was hitting the bottom shroud when i bought the car and the fan blades were pretty worn. i just moved the shroud down about half an inch and it was fine and didnt hit anymore. But now said fan has developed a massive crack in it and i need to replace it. But if i were to install a new fan it would be hitting the bottom shroud by about an inch. Solutions??????? maybe new motor mounts could raise it?????

thats wierd...when i put in my lt headers my they hit my steering shaft, but new motor mounts gave me the clearance. which motor mounts did you use? coupe/gt or convertible? the convertible ones are like 1/2" to 1" lower than a coupe/gt mount...the stock oe replacemnt ones available at autozone or oreillys are anyway. hope this helps man

also if you can put a jack underneath the oil pan with a block of wood inbetween, loosen the mount nuts and jack the motor up a bit and retighten the mounts up. the holes in the k-member are slotted. if there's more clearance available there then use it, but don't forget to recheck the fan shroud clearance. actually taking another look at the picture, it may be the size/type of headers you're running too, hard to tell w/o being there. mess around with the engine height on the jack and check your shaft clearance and see what you can make happen is all i can suggest then. but if you end up needing the whole motor to drop a little more (which you might) try the convertible mounts. but yeah, the flaming river steering shafts don't have that large connector there...i don't think
