Default nasty vibrations at 100 kph

i know there was been post on this, old ones, and i have a symptom that i haven't seen... as everybody else says at about 60+ mph the shifter it vibrating and the car feels like it is going to shake apart, was told it might be because the driveshaft wasn't put back on the rear end it the same spot, rotated the driveshaft to no change.. in doing that i ran into a noise i really dont like, spining the wheels in neutral on jack stands, a clunking in the tranny.. last year it would vibrate, not this bad, when letting off power at over 150 kph.. what i've done this winter is complete rear end rebuild with 3.73's and trac lock rebuild, new shocks and springs.. just wondering what other people think, im thinking about getting a aluminum ds but its not a cheap thing to get and not fix the problem, thanks

put it up on a rack and spin it up to whatever speed you get the vibration and see if the driveshaft is the problem....

Get the car up to speed, like 80 kph. Put it in neutral and let it coast down until the vibrations stops.

If the vibration changes, then it's probably drive line. If it doesn't change, it's probably suspension.

well through trial and error, i have figured out that the guys must of did something wrong in the rear end when they put it together.. up on jackstands it still vibrates, took the driveshaft out to see if it was something in the transmission and it didnt do it.. and since the rear end is the only thing really that is different from last year im ganna call the shop and see if they will check they're work.. any possiblity's that it might be a bent axel? i got them out of a ranger at a scrap yard so its a thought

You can check for a bent axle by measuring the runout at the axle flange with a dial indicator. You should probably also check and make sure that your driveshaft is properly balanced. If they changed the u-joints when they did the rear end swap, and/or shortened the driveshaft, it probably needs to be rebalanced as well.

when i got the rear end rebuilt i took it right out of the car and took just the rear end into the shop, so everything is still the same... thats one thing that is leading me to believe that something might have been done wrong in the diff..

took it into the shop for a test drive, the guy says it might be the driveshaft out of balance( don't know how it could be if it wasnt before and isnt missing weights) or the pinion angle might be off, so hopefully monday when they look at it i can figure out what it might be.. as much as i don't want it to be, i kinda hoping it is in the diff so they're warranty will cover it lol

now this is kinda ridiculous.. they had it up on the hoist and noticed that the exhaust was touching my upper cross members on both sides, now im sure that may give the car alittle vibration, but nothing to the extent that i am getting.. least they didnt charge me, going to beat the bushing in some more for the control arms and it should be lots to clear the exhaust..
