I have a '93... the short belt method didn't work for me, after rubbing issues. I haven't had a smog pump on the car in a long time and I have hardware from two different cars.

I bought 5.0 resto's smog delete pulley, and realize that the long bolt goes into the alternator bracket, but where does that little brace that was on the smog pump go? Is it by the timing pointer? I tried that today, but then the poniter would bottom out before it caught anything...

Please help get me on the right track, I know this is simple... I just am tired of d*ckin with it... A pic from the underside of the car would be fantastic!

My 87 has. No smogpump or delete I can give you the belt length and route I used.

84.5 inch belt is what you needed for bypassing the smog pump

if you were having belt rubbing issues, its because you ran your belt wrong. try again, and get rid of the delete.
