If you bought a new one, it should have a 3 year from NAPA. If you got the reman, it still should be good for at least a year I think. I am not sure because I always buy new. After putting on 3 or 4 remans on customers vehicles in six months to get a good one, we just started asking for new.

just my opinion....don't bother with units from Autozone or Advance. I went through several in a two year stretch. Bought a PA Performance 135A unit 5 years ago...still going strong...and they have a lifetime warranty.
...he says after putting an Advance reman unit on his girlfriends Explorer yesterday....

Do you have a local shop that remanufactures starters, generators, and alternators? I've used parts from stores with some success. Ford reman is close to cost of new. I prefer to see Stan and let him rebuild my units. No bandaid work, and after 31 years of success I still prefer to keep my money local. You can always open the alternator and may only need a $6 bearing. Up untill late 80's the dealers made us take alternators starters apart and only if parts and labor exceeded 80% of new unit could we become a technican and replace the part. Mechanics did in house repair.
