i have my 94 GT and it was able to beat an LT1 vette, and could stick with an LS1 vette before turbo's. I would definitely do some mods, cause my friend, you own the heaviest mustang made. (the SN95 body)

1. do the AFR 185's like Vfast said. (or the roush 200's)

2. do the MAF and TB upgrade

3. do the trick flow intake w/ 32 lb injectors.

4.i like the way the E-303 cam sounds, and it gives a little lope,

and good duration of lift.

5.i use a B&M short throw setup, and it has worked great for me.

6. to drop weight, put the fiberglass hood on, (its better then an obese stock hood, and it looks cooler.)

7.if you want to run squeeze, then for starters, go with a 100-125hp shot.

8. the underdrive pullies will lower your amperage output from your alternator, but it is worth it, you should see an increase of 10-15 horses.

9. if you had a fox body, then these mods wouls slaughter an LT/LS1

With these mods without squeeze, you should be sitting at roughly 315-325 horses (depending on your intake and if the heads are ported) the most significant increase will be the combination of aftermarket heads with an aftermarket upper and lower intake......cause no matter how good your heads flow, the air still goes through a crappy stock intake. the MAF and TB upgrade will let the ECUflow more airinto the engine......along with the larger injectors...more fuel, hence giving you a bigger explosion. and with a bigger explosion, you have more power. Oh yeah, and you still have the option of putting nitrous, a blower or a turbo setup on.
