Default Problems after re-seal

I just went through and tried to reseal my engine last week and ended up with a few new problems.

1st: timing cover STILL leaks...

2nd: the engine now taps, cant tell where its coming from, seems like the center right under the intake. Thoughts are bad lifter(s) or bent pushrod(s)...any thoughts?

3rd: Bought a new Billet MSD Distro (for the second time) not sure whats up with it, car runs, sounds great at idle, take it for a drive and it stutters and stumbles all over its self like its way out of time. Throw in the ORIGINAL with 140k miles on it and it runs fine. (also i installed both distros the exact same way by ensuring it is TDC firing stroke on #1) Any thoughts?

Yea, MSD dizzys are trash lol

What part of the timing cover is leaking? Did you torque your rockers down correctly?

Well the passenger side middle of the timing cover is leaking.

And I made no change to the rockers. They might need adjusting, I haven't touched them in 5 years now.

My question with the distro is; would having a tuner (ie. a TWEECER) that has a custom tune with the factory distro have any effect on it when putting a new distro? cause like i said it sounds perfect at idle and quick revs in neutral, its just when you put a load on the engine that it starting puking all over itself.

It shouldn't but it might.

What all did you do when you put new gaskets in? What all did you replace?

all i replaced was the valve cover gaskets, water pump, timing cover, and oil pan, header gaskets, and upper intake seeing as you have to pull it off. then replaced the plugs, and wires and of course that dumb distro

well i pulled the upper intake and valve covers. check all the push rods, none bent. read in my book and its saying if a lifter collapeses to just get a long pushrod...dont like it.

BUT i think i might have found out where it was tapping. after taking on the rocker girdle i noticed little wear marks here and there on it from a couple rockers bumping into it it seems. I dont get why it would be louder now then it has been for the last 5 years..maybe the girdle got bumped down a hair or something.

lastley there was quite a bit of liquid in the rear intake runner. quite a bit meaning the brand new gasket was soaked all around just that port.
