'89 GT Convertible Top
Hey Gang,
Just got my top replaced, now, when I close the top, it doesn't align in the hole on the passengers side (it never aligned all that well on that side, but now it's way off)... it will close ok on the drivers side, but I have to use brute force to get it to close on the passengers side, and even then, it's just barely holding on when I clamp her down... I can see a good deal of the metal pin - the driver's side the pin goes all the way in... is this a common problem? Any quick fixes?
Thanks for any help!
Eric

you need to let the top stretch in the warm sun and leave it closed for a while..I know it's not that warm yet but it will stretch and you can screw the hook in and out if more length is needed, also make sure the latch is not broke any where , meaning the piviot pins, also inspect all weatherstripping, make sure it is there and not worn

Thanks, Mike. The woman behind the counter at the top place told me to keep the top up for a couple days... Guess I shoulda listened! I'll let it bake in the sun for a day or two and see if there is any improvement. If not, I'll try your other suggestions.
