C4 flexplate and Bellhousing ID
I got a C4 transmission with the mustang I bought and I can't identify what bellhousing and flexplate that came with it. The flexplate has 140 teeth and has the Ford emblem stamped in it but doesn't have a part number I can find. I know the C4 is from a 1978 Mustang because the tag has D8ZP on it. Just needing to know if it will work in my 87 gt.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I wasn't sure if that was the flexplate that came with the tranny. The weight looked larger than the older flexplates I had looked at that had 28oz. Also trying to id the bellhousing to see if a larger flexplate will work with it.

It looks to be a Mustang 2 bell they take a very small converter and a smaller flex plate and no the bell would not work with the big flex plate. you will need to find a 164 flex 50oz balance and the bell to fit it or get a 157 tooth flex with the proper balance for your engine and find the bell for for the 157 flex I have both bells if you cant find one. a flex from a AOD T Bird or Mustang will work as long as you get the 164 tooth bell when you start looking for the bells make sure it is for a C4 and not a C5 due to the depth of the C5 being deeper. Like I said if you need bells or a flex I have the stuff. PM if you need a price
