RIGHT THROTTLE BODY FOR COBRA INTAKE
Ok finally intalled a Cobra Intake on my sons '89 GT. It's pretty much a stock engine with cold-air-intake,Mac equal-length headers,2 1/2 Flow's,3.73gears. My question is what size throttle body should I get. I dont think I'm going to do much more to the car as far as the engine goes (he's still only 16). After the throttle body we'll proabably go to 24lb injectors and a bigger mass air flow. So any ideas/suggestions on what size throttle body and also mass air meter we should go with will be appreciated. Also since we went with the Cobra intake we dont need an EGR spacer right?

RE: RIGHT THROTTLE BODY FOR COBRA INTAKE
I just installed my cobra intake over the weekend. I used a 65mm TB and a 76 mm MAF. With the 373 gears, 2.5 catback and intake it really woke the car up. No you don't need an egr spacer.

I use a 70mm unit but I don't think you'll see any real gain from a larger TB at this point. I also agree that the stock injectors are big enough for now but if you plan on more future mods then you'll need a larger set and matching MAF. So, if you are going to get a MAF you may as well get the larger injectors as well.

Thanks for the input guys. Eventually when this motor goes (120k+ miles on it now) I will proabably stroke it and put some heads and other stuff and make it a stip only car so I just figured to put a bigger throttle body,injectors,mass-air on now (easy bolt-ons). What do you guys think? good idea or bad....

nope, stay stock injectors.. when you build a motor then buy parts. those parts wont help performance right now. for all you know you may need 30#s for the new setup and then you just bought injectors twice.
you wont gain any power with 24# injectors. they are a supporting mod not a performance mod. they are upgraded when you max out teh effieceny rating of the injectors. anything over 80% time to upgrade them
why buy a tb when you dont know where teh next motor is headed? you can go ahead and get a 70mm but why, when your 60 will help you down low on stock motor. this is why i highly recomend knowing what the future of the car truely holds and whats being planned then slowly stock pile all your new parts. thats why my basement, garage, and shed are full of parts. i stock piled and soon very soon it will all be back together
