Default clutch problems

I was driving my stang the other day and lately, the shifting has been really stiff. I actually pulled my clutch pedal back as far as it would go, thinking that it was just bent because i have to put the pedal to the floor to shift, and for a few days, it seemed to have fixed the problem- it was shifting really smooth, the way it should. well, a few days later, the pedal lost most of all its pressure and wont go into any gear at all while the car is running- obviously it will go into gear while the car is off. im having a buddy take it apart but we dont have a clue on what to look at. I thought that pulling the pedal would have stretched the clutch cable, but it seems to be fine. we think its something in the clutch- maybe the throw out bearing?? any other suggestions would help alot...

you probably have the stock clutch quadrent.. that might be the problem, because when you pull the pedal on the stock quad... it ratchets the plastic. and the piece is probably stirpped... and thats why it may have worked for a few days.. so get yourself a steeda clutch quadrent double hook.

Yes you definitely need to get an adjustable clutch cable.

ill check into the quadrent but it seems to be ok, if u know how the quadrent works, the further down the clutch is, the harder it is to shift. on mine, if u take the pedal and pull it up to the last notch, it "used to" shift good, which makes sense that the quadrent might be bad, but, it will still catch its self on the notches. i was wondering if maybe the shift fork could have come off the pivot?? also, is the clutch quadrent a dealer item only? what are the chances of that being the problem 'cause i dont have a clue on where to begin here if its not the quadrent-which ill check in on that tomorrow...
