If there is a 'Canton' oil pan on the engine it threads in.
Contact Canton to get another oil stick and tube.
BTW, you'll probably need to take the header off the car to get art the tube.
You need to use a short series wrench to get the tube fitting off.....

OP, are you trying to put it in the block or does it have an aftermarket pan? As already stated the dipstick doesn't screw into the block.

there ARE aftermarket pans that have a screw in dipstick tube, which is what the OP is more than likely refferring to.

Also, the OP didn't state what type of block he has.

Im running BBK longtubs that I bought off of MJR46.. probably bigger primaries than what you have. I had no trouble getting the dipstick in place.

On the stock and most other oil pans, the dipstick slides in. But regardless, a bracket attached to the dipstick is held underneath a header bolt. That keeps it in place.

its a 302 windsor and it is a canton oil pan and it is DEFINITELY threaded in, bought new dipstick tube and it has the threaded bolt thing to go in but I cannot get the original that was left in it.
