Default TemP gauge help please

So I took off my upper intake to change injectors and after put back togeather I noticed that my temp was rising higher then normal but slowly. So I checked radiator everything seemed to be fine. I was testing the temp with headlights off normal temp turn lights on temp creep ups weird!! So I replaced the sending unit but now my temp read lower then used to. In-between the a and the l. But if I turn the headlights on starts to creep again. What gives. All grounds are still hooked up. Some one put a 140 speedo in the car before I had it. If that gives any info.

Thanks for the help

I wish i could help, but that's the strangest thing that I've ever heard. Not sure what the problem could be. Good luck!

not all sending units show the same resistance for the same temp ranges.

You are just going to need to get used to it.

My headlights affect the temp gauge also, and I have seen A LOT of people with the same issue. I heard someone say it sound like a ground in the cluster. The most common advise I have seen is to get a good aftermarket gauge. I have learned to live with the problem and spend my money on other mods, for now.

Aftermarket gauge is your friend. One of my favorite mods done so far.
