the tilt steering stop on my 89 stang broke of making the wheel really wobble in your hand. my question is can i take of the tilt part and replace it with another tilt assembly or are they some how unable to come apart from the whole column.

if i do have to remove the column any ideas on how to break is loose from that piece under the hood where you take the bolt out of?

the column unbolts from the steering shaft, under the dash. There should also be two to four bolts holding it to the dash itself.
